Rocky Mountain Women’s Film Festival
39th Annual Festival - Oct. 16-18, 2026
CELEBRATING 39 YEARS!
SAVE THE DATE: Oct. 16-18, 2026
It all started with two women and a great idea on the road back from the Telluride Film Festival in 1987. That idea has grown into the longest-running women’s film festival in North America — decades celebrating the drive, spirit, and diversity of women through film. Our mission has never wavered, as we’ve showcased documentary, narrative, shorts, and animated films that are thought-provoking and enriching year after year.
For nearly four decades, filmmakers and audiences have gathered in Colorado Springs for unforgettable screenings, engaging post-film conversations, and filmmaker forums that foster dialogue, connection, and understanding. Today, the Festival remains one of the region’s most celebrated cultural events. We can’t wait to welcome you to the Festival as we continue celebrating the voices and stories of women through film.

Support RMWF
Film Fans! We invite you to join the Circle of Support.
More than 30 years ago a group of women created the original Circle of Support, providing the financial foundation for our cornerstone event, the Rocky Mountain Women’s Film Festival. Since that time, we have grown to be more than a film festival, hosting exciting events and screenings throughout the year. Funding from the Circle of Support allows Rocky Mountain Women’s Film to provide year-round programming.
Circle of Support Members get access to private, behind-the-scenes events, early festival tickets, and the knowledge that they are the reason we’re able to create community through film and amplify the voices of women filmmakers.
More than a Festival
Rocky Mountain Women’s Film is more than our annual Festival — we host more than twenty events every year, from free office screenings to first-run independent film screenings, award-winning shorts, and exclusive events with filmmakers. Beyond the screen, we create space for community conversations around film, bringing people together to explore the stories, ideas, and voices that shape our world.
Film Club &
Film in the Community
Every month Rocky Mountain Women’s Film hosts screenings in our office and beyond to share films from our vast catalog.
We highlight a feature-length film or a collection of short films from previous Festivals. These screenings are free and open to the public. (Seating is limited, so plan to reserve your space in advance!)
